You support the entire community when you provide financial support to the Plymouth District Library. There are a number of ways you can contribute to the financial well-being of the Library, helping it maintain its important place as a resource for all. Any of the following types of gifts can be made by downloading this Gift Form and working with any one of our librarians. Monetary donations used to purchase materials in honor or memory of an individual or group are indicated with a notation in the Plymouth District Library online catalog. Each item purchased with donated funds is so designated via attachment of a bookplate to the item reflecting donor and recipient. Thank You and/or acknowledgment letter is sent from the Library Director to the donor and/or recipient or recipient’s family.
Founded in 1998, the Library’s Endowment Fund provides long-term stability to the Library. Your contribution is held in perpetuity, while interest on the account can be used for Library expenses or reinvested in the fund.
The Library’s Endowment Fund is managed through the Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan,although 100% of your contribution will go directly to the Plymouth District Library. You may go online to their website and use the pulldown menu to select Plymouth District Library and make your donation immediately. Or, donations may be made by check to Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan. Please mark “Plymouth District Library” on the check subject line and send it to:

One of the most popular spots in the Plymouth District Library is the front parlor, named the Dunning Parlor after Library donor, Bessie Dunning and her daughter, Margaret Dunning. Over 200 magazines can be found in the parlor – current and back issues – and are a great community resource for information and entertainment. Individuals, businesses and organizations may adopta magazine by donating the annual subscription cost to the Library. A handsome label appears on the cover of each issue to acknowledge the gift. Many area employers will match their employees’ charitable contributions to libraries. See your human resources or personnel department.
Charitable Remainder Trust
You may form this trust to make current distributions to one or more income beneficiaries and, upon the death of the beneficiaries, to pay the entire amount remaining to a charity. The Plymouth District Library is a qualified charity under the Internal Revenue Code. Consult your tax advisor for more information.
As a non-profit organization, the Library is eligible to be designated as a beneficiary during estate planning.
