The Library serves as host to a variety of discussion groups. Topics include gardening, book clubs, needle crafting, low vision, and writing.

Brown Bag Books – This daytime group meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at noon in the library. Group members bring their own lunches and beverages are provided by the Library. Multiple copies of the works to be read are available at the library circulation desk. Please click for a schedule of books to be discussed during the next few months. Contemporary Books – This group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the library. Group members decide which books will be discussed and take turns moderating the meetings. Great Books– Karen Berrie, group facilitator. (734) 453-2454 – This discussion group is open to anyone who would like to explore great literature and meet with others to develop a deeper appreciation of it. Group meets every other Monday evening at 7:30 from September through May. The group is open to anyone who is curious and willing to work with others in developing an understanding and appreciation of great literature. For more information contact Karen Berrie.
Low Vision Support Group – This group meets on the first Thursday of every month, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Participants share coping skills and adaptive technologies in a supportive atmosphere. Sessions are social as well as informative, and often feature a guest speaker. Library staff members are available to provide assistance with Library equipment, services and offerings. Needlework Group – includes knitters, quilters and other kinds of handicrafters. Bring your current project to share with this group on the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. Writing Group – Area residents are invited to share their writing and exchange ideas. All levels of writing experience welcome. Meets at the Library on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month, from 1:30- 3 p.m.
